Tap Into Your Home Equity

Your home may be one of your biggest financial assets. A Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) or Home Equity Loan can help you access that equity for renovations, major expenses, debt consolidation, or other financial goals.Zero down payment, no mortgage insurance, competitive rates. A dedicated program for active service members, veterans, and eligible surviving spouses. No one in America is positioned to buy better than you are.

Which option is right for you?

A HELOC gives you flexible access to your home equity through a revolving line of credit. Think of it like a credit card secured by your home — you can borrow what you need, when you need it, up to your approved credit limit.

A Home Equity Loan provides you with a lump sum of money upfront, using the equity in your home as collateral. Unlike a HELOC, you receive the funds all at once and typically make fixed monthly payments over a set repayment term.

A HELOC may be a good fit For You If:

Common Questions About Home Equity

Not sure which option is right for you? Here’s what we hear most.

No. Zero down payment required. This is one of the biggest advantages of VA loans. You can buy with nothing down and start building equity from day one.

No mortgage insurance ever. VA loans don’t require PMI. The VA guarantee eliminates that cost for the lender, which saves you money every month for the life of the loan.

The VA has no minimum credit score requirement. Individual lenders set their own minimums (typically 580+), but it varies. Even if your credit isn’t perfect, you have options.

VA loans are for primary residences only. You can’t use your benefit for investment properties or vacation homes. But you can use your benefit multiple times over your lifetime for different primary residences.

No. Zero prepayment penalty. You can pay off your loan early without any cost or consequence. Many veterans do this to save on interest.

Not sure which one you need?

You don’t have to figure it out alone. Let’s talk about your options.
